After school clubs
Learn to hand sew- During these sessions they will learn different techniques to thread a needle, different techniques for how to start and finish sewing, running stitch, and over sewing and how to sew on a button. They will work on a variety of projects including a pocket hug and a decorated pouch. They will learn to sew a variety of fabrics and with different threads. This session is suitable for complete beginners and those that can already sew.
Mondays 4-5pm £60 for 6 sessions, limited to 8 children. 6-15 years old
Learn to knit- during these sessions children will learn how to cast on, garter (knit) stitch and how to cast off. They will start by knitting a piece to learn the stitch and move on to knitting a toy bunny which they will then sew together.
Tuesdays 4-5pm £80 for 6 sessions, Limited to 5 children 8-15 years old
Improvers knitting- For children that know the basics, these sessions will concentrate on next steps, pearl stitch and pattern reading. Children will work on a scarf for a toy and progress to a travel game.
Wednesday 4-5pm £60 for 6 sessions, limited to 8 children, 8-15 years old
Learn to crochet- Children will learn chain, single crochet and double crochet whilst making a variety of simple projects.
Thursday 4-5pm £80 for 6 sessions, Limited to 8 children 8-15 years old
All our after-school clubs are expertly run by Sonya Jefferson, who as an art teaching degree and a passion for arts and crafts for as long as she can remember. After school club is limited in numbers to make sure the children get the attention, they will need for the stage of activity they are at so early booking is essential. Knitting and crochet are better taught to those over the age of 8, if you have a younger child that would like to learn please get in touch to arrange a private session where they will be taught the basics and assessed to see if they are capable of joining an after-school club.
